Cookie Policy
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently and to provide information to the website owner. Cookies may be session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (retained on your device until they expire or you delete them).
How feedz.io Uses Cookies
feedz.io has two parts, and they treat cookies differently:
- The public website — our marketing, pricing, and documentation pages, which anyone can browse. A consent banner appears on your first visit and no analytics cookies are set unless you accept.
- The portal — the signed-in application where you manage your organisations, repositories, and packages. Product analytics run here as part of the Service and are not governed by the public website's banner. See Cookies in the Portal below.
We advertise on Google Search and we measure which of those ads lead to sign-ups. We do not display advertising on the website or in the portal, we do not build advertising or remarketing audiences from your activity, and we do not sell your personal information.
The feedz.io portal authenticates users using JSON Web Tokens (JWTs) — your session credentials are never written to a cookie.
Cookies on the Public Website
These cookies are set by Google Analytics to measure how visitors use the public pages. They are only set after you accept via the consent banner.
- _ga — distinguishes unique users by assigning a randomly generated identifier. Persistent, expires after 2 years.
- _ga_* — used by Google Analytics 4 to persist session state. Persistent, expires after 2 years.
One further cookie is essential and is set whichever choice you make:
- feedz_cookie_consent — records whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies so that we do not ask again on every page.
Data collected by Google Analytics is processed by Google and subject to Google's Privacy Policy. Google may transfer this data to servers outside the EEA.
Cookies in the Portal
Once you sign in, the portal is a product you have chosen to use rather than a page you are simply browsing. Understanding how it is used is part of operating, supporting, and improving it, so the cookies below are set for all signed-in users and are not covered by the public website's consent banner. We rely on our legitimate interests in running and improving the Service — see the Privacy Policy. You can object to this processing, or ask us to delete the data we hold about your use of the portal, by contacting privacy@feedz.io.
- _ga, _ga_* — Google Analytics, as described above.
- AMP_*, AMP_MKTG_* — set by Amplitude, our product-analytics provider. They hold a randomly generated device identifier and session state so that a series of actions can be understood as a single visit. Persistent, expire after 1 year.
- _gcl_au, _gcl_aw — set by Google Ads to record that you reached us from one of our search ads, so that a later sign-up can be attributed to it. These are advertising cookies in the usual sense of the term, although we use them only to measure our own advertising and never to target you. Persistent, expire after 90 days.
Amplitude processes this data on our behalf on servers in the United States, and is subject to Amplitude's Privacy Policy.
Session Recording in the Portal
We use Amplitude's session replay in the portal. It records how you interact with the page — pointer movement, clicks, scrolling, navigation, and changes to what is displayed — so that we can replay a session and see where the product is slow, confusing, or broken. It currently runs for all portal sessions.
Values you type into form fields are masked before the recording leaves your browser, and one-time secrets such as newly created access tokens are excluded from recording entirely. Other content shown on screen — including organisation, repository, and package names — is captured as displayed. We do not record the contents of the packages you upload or download.
Recordings are used only to diagnose problems and improve the portal. To object to being recorded, or to have your recordings deleted, contact privacy@feedz.io.
Third-Party Cookies
The following third-party cookie may also be set during the payment checkout flow:
- Stripe — Stripe sets cookies during payment processing to detect fraud and maintain the security of the transaction. These cookies are only present on pages where you are completing a payment. They are governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
Managing Cookies
You can withdraw your consent to analytics cookies on the public website at any time
by deleting the feedz_cookie_consent cookie for feedz.io in your browser, then refreshing
the page. The consent banner will reappear. The portal's product analytics are not controlled by that
banner — to object to them, contact privacy@feedz.io. You can
also instruct your browser to block or delete cookies directly:
Changes to This Policy
We will update this policy if we introduce new cookies. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date.
